Program: Anita Charles – Christian Hearts for Haiti
Anita Charles is the Founder of Christian Hearts for Haiti, a non-profit organization that distributes school supplies and offer educational opportunities to underprivileged children.
Anita is very passionate about the work her organization is doing in Haiti and she epitomizes the saying “One person can make a difference”. She showed a compelling video that documents the building of a library at the public school in Saint Louis Du Sud, the town where she is from. She has future plans to build a toilet/bathroom at the school.
Anita is a native of Saint LouisDu Sud, Haiti. She came to the United States in 1973. She holds an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Central Piedmont Community College and Bachelors in Foreign Language (French) from UNC – Charlotte.
She is employed by a major financial institution in Credit Risk Management. Anita volunteers to teach English as a Second Language for the Edge Institute, an organization that is reaching the world through teaching.

Service Project – Ronald McDonald House
On Saturday, December 28th, the Charlotte End-of-the-Week Rotary Club provided and served breakfast at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Charlotte, NC.
The RMH of Charlotte provides families a safe, comfortable and supportive home away from home while their children receive medical treatment at nearby medical facilities. This house is one of more than 300 Houses operating worldwide in 52 countries. The first RMH was opened in Philadelphia, PA in 1974.
We were greeted by other volunteers that work at the House and was given a comprehensive tour of this fantastic House and an overview of the services provided.
Visit their website for more information about RMH and how you can help.
